Saxon (Paaspop Schijndel, April 2015)

Saxon.
Classic heavy metal act formed in 1976 in South Yorkshire, UK and one of the leading bands in the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal. Many successful bands (like Metallica, Mötley Crüe, Pantera, Sodom, Skid Row, and Megadeth) name Saxon as one of their major influences.
2 of Saxon’s founding members are still in the band: Biff Byford (vocals) and Paul Quinn (guitar). And the other guys are not exactly newbies. Doug Scarratr (guitar) replaced Graham Oliver in 1996, Nibb Carter (bass) joined in 1986 and Nigel Glockler has been Saxon’s drummer (with some intermezzo’s) since 1981.
Saxon has produced an impressive list of 20 studio albums, the latest of which (Sacrifice) was released in 2013, and a new one is due still this year.
I have seen them perform several times and their show still is one of the best.
I took these pictures during their show at the Phoenix Stage of Paaspop Schijndel on 4 April 2015.
