Dropkick Murphys (Klokgebouw Eindhoven, February 2015)

DROPKICK MURPHYS, an Irish-punk band named after Dr. John “Dropkick” Murphy, was founded in 1996 in Quincy Masachusetts, south of Boston.

Of the original setting only bass player KEN CASEY is still in the band, together with AL BARR (vocals), MATT KELLY (drums), JAMES LYNCH (guitar), JOSHUA ‘SCRUFFY’ WALLACE (bagpipes / tin whistle), TIM BRENNAN (guitar, tin whistle, accordion, mandolin, bouzouki, keyboard, piano) and JEFF DAROSA (banjo, bouzouki, mandolin, guitar, keyboard, piano, harmonica, tin whistle).

DROPKICK MURPHYS have released 8 studio albums over the years, the latest SIGNED AND SEALED IN BLOOD (2013), and 3 live albums.
Their song I’M SHIPPING UP TO BOSTON (from WARRIOR’S CODE, 2005) was one of their biggest hits. It was used in Martin Scorcese’s film The Departed, in a Simpson’s episode The Debarted and as the theme song to the crime series ‘Rizzoli & Isles’, and it became ‘their’ RED SOX’s closer Jonathan Papelbon’s walk-up song.

I shot these pictures when DROPKICK MURPHYS were headlining the Celtic Punk Invasion Tour on 3 February 2015 in Klokgebouw Eindhoven NL.
