Anneke van Giersbergen is a Dutch singer from St. Michielsgestel, whose fame started when she joined (then) metal band The Gathering back in 1994 at the age of 20, who became pioneers in the genre nowadays known as Female Fronted Metal. Her strong voice and stage presence helped the band achieve several successes. Anneke left The Gathering in 2007. Started a new band Agua de Annique, and since 2011 performs under her own name.
On 21 March 2014 she played the last show of her Dutch clubtour in promotion of her latest album ‘Drive’ in P60 Amstelveen before moving on to the international leg of the tour.
